After the first hardening, the Carbone 120 goes for a second round in the boule oven, softening its surface. This anti-rebound treatment favors the "carreaux sur place" (a direct shot, with your boule taking the place of your opponent's), and also suits pointers playing on very hard terrains. This carbon steel boule develops a matte surface, providing for an excellent grip.

Carbon steel boules are painted with a protective black varnish, which diminishes gradually with use. They require maintenance with oil after each day of play, we recommend using a thin oil, such as WD40 or 3-EN-1.
